Fall in Austin brings one of the city’s most festive seasonal events—Pumpkin Nights at Pioneer Farms. This year, I finally got to experience it for the first time, and I can confidently say it was a great time to start off the spooky season.
Pumpkin Nights runs from September 19th through October 31st at Pioneer Farms in North Austin.
Pioneer Farms is a historic site tucked away in North Austin. At the Pumpkin Nights trail’s end are old-timey farmhouses, barns, and cabins that Pioneer Farms is known for. They transform this rustic setting into a Halloween wonderland! As a fall/spooky-season enthusiast, I was going crazy for all the cool visuals and lights at Pumpkin Nights! I couldn’t wait to explore the whole event.
Once you arrive at Pioneer Farms, you’re greeted by a festive pumpkin entrance. The event is held on an open ranch, so dirt was flying around, which added to the eerie, smoky atmosphere. There were a lot of fun vendors that sold oddities, artwork, and everything in between.
The event features a variety of themed areas, including Enchanted Forests and Neon Reefs. I had a great time exploring the event, and I highly recommend checking it out while it’s still open!
The cost to attend the event varies depending on the day you go! I recommend looking at the calendar on their website to gauge the price point.
I’m already counting down the days until next year’s event! If you’re in the Austin area during the fall season, I highly recommend checking it out. Be sure to bring a camera to capture all the incredible pumpkin art, and don’t forget to indulge in some seasonal treats while you’re there. Happy haunting!
